What is Reflexology? Who is it for, and what common conditions can it support?

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a deeply relaxing treatment that can offer a range of benefits to help improve your overall well-being. There are over 7000 nerve endings in the feet. Specific reflexes of the feet correspond to areas in the body and reflexology works by applying pressure on these reflexes using a variety of techniques that can help to restore balance in the whole body. I can also offer reflexology on the hands.

The holistic approach...

Reflexology aims to treat the individual as a whole, creating a state of harmony in both body and mind. It has the benefit of also being a deeply relaxing therapy, and during periods of relaxation the body takes the opportunity to heal, restore and energise itself.

Reflexology is for all ages!

Reflexology is suitable for all ages, from baby to adult, and can be especially helpful for long-term and recurring conditions. Reflexology does not diagnose and does not cure though; as a complementary therapy it should not be considered an alternative to conventional medicine.

Balance

Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles and giving us a space to reflect on the mind as well as the body.

Relaxation

Reflexology can induce a deep state of relaxation, which improves the effectiveness of the treatment. Relaxing helps relieve tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helping with the removal of toxins.

Health

While it is not a cure, Reflexology can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.

Advanced Facial Reflexology

I have trained with Ziggie Bergman at The London School of Reflexology in The Bergman Method Advanced Facial Reflexology.

It is a non invasive treatment that aims to help improve your entire body function, boost circulation and nerve conduction and encourages the release of toxins from the body. It also offers a more radiant, firmer and glowing complexion on the outside.

It works in the same way as foot reflexology where the reflex points are stimulated on the face that correspond to areas of the body using gentle pressure.

I’ll be using the Ziggie Bergman award winning Amethyst Crystal infused Elixir which is suitable for all skin types and will be incorporating the use of some Rose Quartz facial tools to the routine for extra benefits.

It’s a blissful relaxing treatment and it can be especially beneficial for conditions such as, migraines, bell’s palsy and sinus problems. It can also help aid anxiety and stress symptoms, improve concentration and aims to give you a greater sense of wellbeing.
